DAY  OPPORTUNITIES PART 2: THE ACTIVITIES

Structured one-to-one and group based actvities are largely carried out by trained  Volunteers, these Volunteers are in turn organised and supervised by the Volunteer Co-ordinator and Day Opportunities Co-ordinator. This relationship is  further enhanced/supplemented by the contribution of external partners such as local Further Education Tutors.

Activities provided in the current Day opportunities Weekly programme include the following:

Introduction to Computers - utilising specialist software to  assist individuals to improve memory and concentration deficits, as well as learning basic computing skills.

Creative Crafts - offering a range of creative activities including pottery,  painting, mosaics.

Leisure and  fitness - offering access to a local Health Club.

New activities will be offered based on client needs and availability of personnel. Meanwhile  transport should be arranged by individual clients, or alternatively by their referrering agent through a community care package.

In some  circumstances Headway Black Country may be able to assist through the use of Volunteer drivers.
